Whether it's a worn wedding ring, a snapped chain, a broken clasp, a loose stone, or a treasured heirloom that has lost its shine, every piece is repaired professionally and personally at my own bench in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter. Every piece comes back to your hands in a perfect state.
I'm James, a jeweller who believes jewellery deserves to be in its best state made without shortcuts. Your jewellery will come back to you better than when you bought it, nothing is sent away and nothing is swapped, the silver you bring in is the very same silver you take home.

A price sent over WhatsApp from a photo isn't a quote, it's a guess. There is no possible way to make any estimate without a close inspection.
Every repair starts the same way: your piece goes under the microscope so you can see exactly what I can see. From worn prongs to hidden cracks or links close to snapping, I'll show it to you on screen before I pick up a tool.
Then, after detailing what I can do to make your piece better than new, I'll give you one price. No surprises, no extras added once work is underway. You know the exact cost before you agree to the repair.

A Jeweller from birth
I didn't choose this trade, I was born into it. Dad had me at the bench almost as soon as I could hold a file, and Mum has kept the workshop running just as long. This isn't a business we picked up, it's what our family has always done.
These days it's mostly me repairing your jewellery, but Mum and Dad are still very much part of the workshop, whether that's a second pair of eyes on a tricky repair or keeping things running behind the scenes. Same family, same standard, every single time.

Straight answers
Do you send my silver away?
No, your piece never leaves the workshop. I repair everything in the workshop while you wait. No middlemen, no risk, no weeks of waiting.
How much does it cost?
I don't offer prices online, as every piece is different. Bring it in and I'll have a look under the microscope, then give you a straight, fixed price.
Do I need an appointment?
Nope, just walk in during opening hours. If you want your piece fixed on the same day, it's best to arrive before 11 AM so that I have enough time to complete your repair before closing.
Can I watch my ring being repaired?
Absolutely. I'll show you what needs doing under the microscope, then repair it right in front of you. No secrets, no surprises. Most resizes are done within 2 hours.
Why can't you quote from a photo?
Because there are usually a lot of underlying issues that are not visible from a photo. Worn claws, distorted settings, thin metal... you can't see these issues from a photo, that is why I have to inspect it properly under the microscope, so I can give you one accurate price.
What if the resize doesn't feel right?
Bring it back within two weeks and I'll make a small size adjustment free of charge. Fingers change with the heat, the cold, and with daily life, so I've got you covered.
Other jewellers said it's 'too delicate', can you fix it?
My laser repair tech and skill allows me to fix many pieces ordinary jewellers simply won't touch. Antique settings, thin silver, fragile stones... bring it in for a closer look and I'll tell you if I can help.
Can you resize a ring with stones in it?
Yes, most rings with stones can be resized, but they need extra care. I'll need to check the prongs under the microscope so I can give you an accurate explanation of what needs to be done.
Is my jewellery safe if I leave it with you?
Yes. Fully insured, registered, and locked away until you pick it up.
What if you find an extra problem?
If it's related to the agreed repair, I'll sort it without adding to the price. If it's something separate, I'll explain what needs doing before carrying out any further work. No nasty surprises.

Is the repair guaranteed?
Yes. Every repair is guaranteed for 12 months against any defect in my workmanship. If a repair of mine fails, bring it back and I'll put it right free of charge.
How long does a repair take?
Most repairs are done the same day, and the average job takes about an hour. Arrive before 11 AM and you can usually walk out wearing your piece. Bigger jobs like a shank replacement can take up to 3 hours.
Is there parking nearby?
Street parking is available on and around Warstone Lane, and on Sundays parking is free. The workshop is also a short walk from the Jewellery Quarter train and tram stop.
